I’m finally feeling the effects and pressure of this task. Vowing to write every day (minus Sundays) for the month of April taxes the creativity and writing fitness—can I keep doing this so many days in a row? Today I feel like I’ve pumped so much literary iron that my writing muscle is fatigued. I’m like a soccer player who expends all her energy sprinting in the first half of the game. It’s halftime now and the game is tied with no one on the bench.
When I contemplated all the “M” words for which I am grateful, so many came to mind, but with so much work to do today (editing 300 novel pages my client needs to send to nine agents next week has me hopping) and very little sleep last night, I have decided that my “M” word for today is Mulligan.
In case you are unfamiliar with the term, a mulligan is a golf term for a stroke that is replayed without penalty. In writing, I’m using it today to “replay” my blog entry without penalty. Matter of fact, I’ll likely skip this hole all together and move on to “N” tomorrow.
So, if you’ve come here looking for a great “M” blog post, go ahead and play through. I’ll be having a glass of wine in the clubhouse.

M for Metaphor. Nice! The Judges say they'll accept your answer.

Gotcha.
I am really glad I had as many posts pre-written as I did. I hope I am able to write so more so that I can stay ahead. I hate the idea of trying to do this day-to-day. That will feel like WORK.

What I've been finding a bit difficult is not writing the posts…those aren't that bad (and I had a theme and each day plotted, not written, but plotted out), it's trying to visit everyone else's blogs that's been the chore.
I had two pre-written, before April 1st, and have been just keeping one ahead, using Sunday as a 'catch up' day, if I need.
This is my first year doing the challenge and, trust me, I know what you mean!
Hang in there, though….we're halfway there 🙂

Indeed, my friend, a Mulligan is in order. And something for which to be grateful. How many times do we get a do-over? You are so clever at finding a way to prevail. xoA

Happy A-Z challenge.

Just saw the Bishop struck by lightning on the 16th green. Coming for a drink at the clubhouse!

That's so funny, Dana. I've heard that term for years and was never quite sure what it meant. There's a commercial running at the moment (I forget what it's for) where the people are playing golf and they use the term. Ralph just explained it to me last week. I like it. The Challenge is wearing me down too. But I'm sticking with it!

HA! Love this. About halfway through the a-z, my eyes start to glaze over when I look at the computer screen, so I can relate! I don't normally write every day, so it's a stretch. I wrote most posts ahead of time, and that really helped. Only a week left! You can do it!
